Two days' event about Energy & Environment

• 4 Mars 2009: Renewable energy sources

• 5 Mars 2009: Saving energy in the construction, transportation and industry

The event was under the auspices of the European Photovoltaic Industry Association (EPIA). Prof. Arthouros Zervos, President of the European Renewable Energy Council (EREC), Chairman of the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) and President of the European Wind Energy Association (EWEA) was the key speaker. There was a reportage about this event in the national digital TV channel 'Prisma'. The presentations were collected in a CD, to be distributed because high interest was recorded.

Three  events with lectures about temporary architecture in Greece:

• 23 Mars 2009: Contemporary residences' architecture
• 5 May 2009:    Buildings for professional use and Public Buildings
• 2 June 2009:    Green architecture (bioclimatic buildings)

Women professors in Architecture schools and successful women architects presented  their best designs and share their experience with a great  number of men and women engineers, especially young architects who attended these three events.

On the 21^st Mars EDEM organized an event with the intriguing title 'When the engineer is a woman' including lectures about the difficulties women face in the technical sector and about the new concepts women implement in engineering (respect nature and environment, sustainable development, friendly design etc). At the end of this event, the symbolic awarding ceremony of young women engineers who finished their studies with the higher degrees took place for the third year. Young and promising women engineers talked about their plans.
